Your music stays on your computer.
Sorted is made by dotbm, a small company in Bermuda. This page says what the app and this site collect and why. Last updated 3 November 2026.
What the app sends
To work out which riddim a track is on, Sorted sends an audio fingerprint: a few kilobytes of numbers worked out on your computer from the sound of the track. It also sends the title, artist and other tag text already in the file, which helps the match. It never sends the audio itself. A fingerprint can't be played or turned back into the song.
When you tick, skip or correct a match, Sorted sends that answer with the fingerprint, so the match improves for everyone. It is stored without your name.
If you turn on "send diagnostics" to report a problem, the app sends a log of what it was doing. It shows you the log before it goes.
Your account
The free scan needs no account. Pro needs an email address, which is how you sign in (a link, no password). We keep the email, your plan, and the names of the computers you've activated, so you can see and remove them.
Payments are handled by our card processor. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the last four digits and the expiry so we can show them on your account page.
This site
The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't track you across sites. If you send the feedback form or leave your email for a download link, we keep what you typed and use it only to reply or send the link.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
- Upload your music.
- Read files outside the music folders and DJ software libraries you point Sorted at.
Your rights
dotbm handles personal information under Bermuda's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@dot.bm and a person will answer.
